OAK WHISKY DISPLAY SET - SPECIAL

For all whisky lovers - we are proud to offer this one-off truly unique special whisky display set which comprises of all items as seen in the header picture (except for the bottle of whisky and alcohol not included)

The large plinth has been made from kiln-dried Scottish oak and finally force-dried further to encourage splits to add to its character. On the outside we have intermittently burned & charred the surface to represent the burning & sealing of the inside of a whisky barrel, and inserted an original vintage brass tap which has great patina and is for decorative purposes only

The smaller flat plinth has been created from a hand-picked piece of quality oak for its knots & splits which visually associates to the large plinth, and has been blackened down using the traditional Japanese Yakisugi burning method, and so no colours or dyes have been used

These “True to Nature” plinths work with the natural character of the wood which we enhance and work with (no fillers in here folks)

The set is completed with the world famous Glencairn whisky glass & water jug (both boxed), a brass cast “Old Tom the Distillery cat” ornament (we have fondly named this cat “Old Tom the Distillery Cat” based upon the whisky distilleries traditionally having a resident cat to keep an eye out for any unwanted mice intruders !) and finally decorated with peated malted barley grains & two barley sheaths

These plinths are finally finished off with Oak and Still Creations special application method and recipe of pure beeswax and mineral oil by submerging them in a warm bath of our beeswax conditioner, allowed to dry, buffed up & repeated and finally buffed again to a high end finish 

Dimensions: Large plinth approx 125mm length at longest point x 125mm wide at widest point x 238mm in height

Dimensions: Smaller flat plinth approx 240mm long x 123 wide x 18mm thickness

This listing shows the actual item that you will receive as this is a one-off, as no two bits of wood grain & burning are ever the same

For the after-care of these plinths we would highly recommend the purchase of Oak and Still Creations wax conditioner & applying a small amount from the tin, rubbing into the surface with a lint-free cloth.
