OAK WHISKY BARREL STAVE DISPLAY PLINTH

It gives us great pleasure to list this very special display plinth made from the top part of an original barrel stave, which has been sympathetically sanded, leaving an amount of the barrel’s original markings. We also made an oak barrel bung (60mm diameter) from the original stave, inserting it so it sits proud from the surface to display the Glencairn Wee whisky glass (glass not included)

In the centre we have made a 50mm recess & inserted below the surface a copper disc that has been flame painted to extract various shapes & colours from the copper

On the left hand side of the plinth, another 50mm recess was created below the surface & a copper disc placed in for the miniature real copper decorative still to sit on. This still has a protruding copper spiral over the flame painted disc, as a presentation area for a 50ml / 5cl miniature whisky bottle. We have aged this still down slightly to take it away from new shiny copper 

On the underside there is part of the original grooved recess that the barrel lid was held within

This glorious little plinth would make an exceptional plinth for a loved one or a friend, or indeed a lovely gift to spoil yourself

Ps the bottom part of the still is fixed to the plinth base & the top part with the spiral attached is removable

Sanded to a very fine grade and when finishing products have been applied, has made this a very tactile piece

This display plinth is finally finished off with Oak and Still Creations special application method and recipe of pure beeswax and mineral oil by submerging it in a warm bath of our beeswax conditioner, allowed to dry, buffed up & repeated and finally buffed again to a high end finish.

This listing shows the actual item that you will receive as this display plinth is a one-off, as no two bits of wood grain or burning are ever the same

For the after-care of this board we would highly recommend the purchase of Oak and Still Creations wax conditioner & applying a small amount from the tin, rubbing into the surface with a lint-free cloth. Allow to sit for 15-20 minutes then buff off with another lint-free cloth to a sheen. Can be purchased by clicking on this link: our beeswax conditioner
