We have created this wonderful Yakisugi multifunctional decorative piece – as you will see it has been pictured in various settings with it containing decorative pebbles, garlic bulbs & cherry tomatoes to give just a few examples of its versatility – and this would look fabulous in any home
Using timber sourced from storm damaged forests, in this instance we have chosen Larch. We have encouraged this wood to dry very quickly which promotes cracks & splits, and truly gives this piece its character & charm, followed by hand wood turning & hollowing out
Finally the ancient Japanese Yakisugi wood burning process was applied promoting and enhancing splits & cracks. The amazing colouration is completely natural which comes from the wood burning & charring technique
Two decorative hand-crafted mottled copper ties have been added to this piece and held with brass round head pins for a touch of class
Dimensions: approx 130mm diameter x 100mm height
This listing shows the actual item that you will receive as this piece is a one-off, as no two bits of wood grain or burning are ever the same
For the after-care of this item we would highly recommend the purchase of Oak and Still Creations wax conditioner & applying a small amount from the tin, rubbing into the surface with a lint-free cloth. Allow to sit for 15-20 minutes then buff off with another lint-free cloth to a sheen. Can be purchased by clicking on this link: our beeswax conditioner
The underside has our inlaid company logo
Please note- Decorative pebbles, garlic bulbs & cherry tomatoes are not included
