DOUGLAS FIR (Yakisugi Style) DISPLAY PLINTH WITH COPPER FLAME-PAINTED INSERT

This stunning Douglas Fir display plinth with a pure copper flame-painted insert has been specially hand-selected for its knotty appearance and would grace any home setting. Its versatility would allow you to display your favourite bottle of alcohol for example Whisky, Brandy, Cognac, Gin, Wine etc. or indeed purchase as the perfect gift for a friend or loved one

Created from kiln-dried Douglas Fir we have applied the traditional Yakisugi wood burning method – within this process it leaves resinous knots sitting proud which allows us to sand them down to highlight them beautifully, resulting in a very tactile & visually flowing piece. The intermittent application of satin 'Peregrine Blue' acrylic paint compliments the central copper insert perfectly

The plinth has a 120mm central circular recessed area containing a removable copper disc (120mm) that has been beautifully flame-painted through a heating & cooling method to extract various shapes & natural colours from the copper depicting our take on an 'amazing sunset'. A clear protective coating has been applied to the surface of the copper for your bottle to sit on

This plinth is finally finished off with Oak and Still Creations special application method and recipe of pure beeswax and mineral oil by submerging it in a warm bath of our beeswax conditioner, allowed to dry, buffed up & repeated and finally buffed again to a high end finish

This listing shows the actual item that you will receive as this display plinth is a one-off, as no two bits of wood grain or burning are ever the same

For the after-care of this plinth we would highly recommend the purchase of Oak and Still Creations wax conditioner & applying a small amount from the tin, rubbing into the surface with a lint-free cloth.
